Some of Australia’s best new emerging designers took over Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Thursday as part of the Raffles International Showcase.
Seven former students from the Raffles College of Design and Commerce in Parramatta took to the runway to show their resort collections.
The 23-year-old spent months putting together the pieces which were inspired by a trip to Japan and its famous zen gardens.
She spoke to the St George and Sutherland Shire Leader about how she was feeling just hours before her designs took to the stage.
‘’I’m super nervous but really excited,’’ she said.
‘’It’s been a huge rush so far just making sure things are labelled and every garment has the models name on it.’’
She said the end of the day will bring both relief and excitement but won’t signal the end of hard work.
‘’It’s not over I still have to reach out to buyers and magazines and getting my clothes our to media and the press,’’ she said.
Other designers showing their collections included Rebecca Deasy, Melisa The, Carley Rose Wolski, Nath Vesaruttragool, Letar Sangngern and Wilson Nguyen.
