NEW recruit Bobo has made an immediate impact for Sydney FC, scoring a goal and setting up two others in their 3-0 victory over Blacktown City in the FFA Cup at Edensor Park.
The Brazilian striker was quick to prove his $1m signing worth, setting up goals for Filip Holosko in the 13th minute and David Carney in the 26th, before capping the match with one for himself in the 78th.
It was a disappointing night for Blacktown City, whose only ray of hope came from winger Danny Choi, who almost managed to slot one from inside his own half but couldn’t quite beat Sydney keeper Danny Vukovic.
Sydney FC boss Graham Arnold said he was most please with his side’s professionalism and attitude during the match.
“You come out here and play on a different type of field that we’re not used to against a team that’s running on emotion highly because they’ve just won the NPL here in NSW,” he told Fox News.
“We went out with a great attitude and a ruthless attitude to win the game.”
Sydney FC now progress to the semi-finals of the FFA cup for the first time.
