It wouldn't be outrageous to assume most people dreamed of working in an amusement park at some point in their lives.
Well, Raging Waters, the water park in Prospect, is on the hunt for workers in its summer season - and is offering cash prizes to get them.
Management are getting ready to head into the busy summer season and new new team members to fill a variety of roles, including slide inspectors (effectively, slide tester), lifeguards, slide attendants, water quality staff, park presentation staff, and admissions and food/beverage attendants.
Raging Waters is expected to welcome about 600 staff members for the season, and each will be in the running to win one $10,000 in a staff lottery.
Management are so keen to attract the best people for the job, they'll even put up regional workers in local accommodation for the peak part of the season.
Raging Waters general manager Ros Pullen said team members would receive one entry in the staff lottery for every shift worked between December 18 and April 24, and they must remain employed for the whole season to be eligible.
"We are hiring more team members than ever before to prepare for our biggest summer ever," she said.
"We are especially seeking lifeguards and aquatic attendants who are responsible for dispatching on our slides and patrolling western Sydney's only beach.
"We provide full training for our internationally accredited lifeguard course. You need to be friendly and hardworking with a positive attitude to be part of the best team ever."
Employees also receive free season entry and parking, plus free tickets for family and friends.
They get discounts on season passes and day tickets for friends and family; food, beverage and retail discounts; and a $100 referral bonus for workers who refer another successful candidate.
"Working at Raging Waters Sydney is a great opportunity to learn lifelong skills in a fun and supportive environment," Ms Pullen said.
"Our season fits around any study commitments students may have.
"It has been a very challenging few months and we know that our guests are excited to experience a summer of fun in a COVID-safe environment."
A free shuttle bus will also operate in December and January between the park and Blacktown rail station.
