Vax race: Fairfield and Liverpool COVID-19 vaccination rates are neck-and-neck

Take a bow Fairfield and Liverpool - more than 85 per cent of eligible residents have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Now let's talk bragging rights.

The latest figures from NSW Health on October 24, show Fairfield has 86.8 per cent of its 172,126 eligible residents double-jabbed.

Liverpool has 86.5 per cent of its 176,376 residents aged 15 and over fully vaccinated.

When it comes to first dose vaccinations, Fairfield has the slightest of leads with 93.6 per cent compared to 93.5 per cent.

The two LGAs have swapped leads over the past few months when it comes to double-dosed vaccination rates.

On October 3, it was Fairfield with the lead 68.9 per cent to 68.5 per cent. On September 12, it was Liverpool with a 42.9 per cent to 42.1 per cent edge. Back on August 27, Liverpool held a 1.6 per cent lead.

Camden is the LGA to catch with more than 95 per cent of eligible residents double vaccinated.

NSW Health said: "If you haven't received a COVID-19 vaccination yet, please don't delay. Even if you have had COVID-19 and recovered, you can get vaccinated."
