Suasan Rasheed form Salvation Army Moneycare south-west Sydney has a message for financially stressed residents this Anti-Poverty Week (October 17 to 23): "We are here to help".
The Salvation Army in Fairfield are hosting a free online information session on Wednesday, October 13 at 11am. The virtual event, which you can register for by calling 9633 5011, will be an information session on Centrelink and MyGov for the community in conjunction with Wise Employment with an explanation of services in Arabic.
"The Salvation Army has a broad array of financial services that individuals and families can reach out to if they need support," Ms Rasheed said.
"Please, don't struggle in silence- attend this virtual information session or reach out to The Salvation Army for support. We are here to help."
The Salvation Army has a range of services available where individuals and families can reach out for financial support including Moneycare, which is The Salvation Army's free and confidential financial counselling service.
Moneycare and can help with advocacy with banks and other financial institutions to help with debt relief, advocacy with utility providers to help with affordable repayments and financial counselling.
The Salvos Doorways service is available to support people facing urgent financial need and can provide immediate financial relief for people who need urgent help paying for food and other essential goods.
