Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public information following the alleged aggravated robbery and assault of a man at Liverpool earlier this year.

Emergency services were called to Liverpool Railway Station at 11pm on June 4, 2021 after a man was allegedly assaulted by two men.

Police say they were told the 24-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, hit his head and become unconscious.

"The two men stole personal items from the injured man before they fled the scene," a police statement says.

"Members of the public rendered assistance before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment and has since been released."

Initial inquiries were conducted by local police before officers from the Police Transport and Public Safety Command's Proactive Crime Team South West took carriage of the investigation.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist with ongoing inquiries.

Police say the man is depicted in the CCTV as being Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged between 18 and 25, with a large build, long ponytail and facial hair.

He is wearing light grey track pants, light grey shoes and a dark t-shirt in the image, police say.
