Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare is out of the Tokyo Olympics after being handed a provisional doping ban on the day of her 100 metres semi-final.
And Kenyan sprinter Mark Odhiambo was also provisionally suspended on Saturday after a sample collected on Wednesday showed traces of methasterone, an anabolic steroid, the International Testing Agency said.
He is taking his case to the ad hoc Court of Arbitration for Sport set up in Tokyo in a bid to keep his place in the men's 100m heats later on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Okagbare tested positive for human growth hormone, the Athletics Integrity Unit said on Saturday.
A sample provided on July 19 returned a positive result for the banned substance and the testing laboratory informed the Integrity Unit on Friday.
Okagbare was scheduled to compete in the 100m semi-finals in Saturday's second session having easily won her Friday heat in 11.05 seconds, finishing ahead of Britain's Asha Philip and Tynia Gaither from the Bahamas.
She won a silver medal for the long jump at the 2008 Games in Beijing and holds the Commonwealth Games women's 100m record.
