Fremantle are set to be boosted by the return of forward Matt Taberner for Saturday's AFL clash with Collingwood but skipper Nat Fyfe remains "touch and go".
Fyfe has been sidelined since dislocating his reconstructed right shoulder in the club's loss to the Western Bulldogs on June 6.
The two-time Brownlow medallist has avoided surgery for now but he won't be given the green light to play again until he regains sufficient strength in his shoulder.
The Dockers initially hoped Fyfe would miss just the one game - the recent win over Gold Coast.
Last week's bye gave Fyfe further time to recover for the Collingwood match but coach Justin Longmuir said a final call on the star midfielder's availability would be made later this week.
"(The bye) has given him a really good chance to get up for this game. He's still going to be touch and go," Longmuir told SEN on Monday.
"I don't really want to put a percentage on it. He's got a lot of hurdles to jump.
"If I had to say one over the other, it'd probably be more likely that Taberner will play."
Taberner has missed the past three games with ligament damage in his ankle but is a strong chance to face the Pies after training strongly on Saturday.
Defender Nathan Wilson will return from suspension, while key back Griffin Logue is available after overcoming his recent concussion.
The Magpies will be without the suspended Jordan De Goey and injured backman Darcy Moore (knee) in interim coach Robert Harvey's first game in charge.
