Art programs complement exhibitions

Three art programs this month will serve as an extension to the two current Fairfield City Museum and Gallery exhibitions which close this month: Travelling Sounds (June 19) and Here: After (June 26).

The programs will be produced, developed and presented by western Sydney based creative practitioners.

The events are:

  • Utopian Writing Workshop with Jazz Money: Saturday, June 12, 11.30a, to 1.30pm. Ages: 15 plus. Light refreshments provided. Cost: $8 per person. A two-hour intensive creative writing workshop for young people to imagine possibilities for the future.
  • Telling our Futures artist talk: Saturday, June 12, 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Light refreshments provided. Cost: free but registration essential. Here: After curator Tian Zhang and exhibiting artists will talk about how they draw from lived experience and connection to place to speculate on alternate and future realities.
  • Behind the Lens: Saturday, June 19, 6pm to 9pm. Ahes: 18 plus. Cost: $20 per person. An innovative music and arts based program where three emerging musicians will collaborate with three multidisciplinary creatives and three videographers to create a sensory live music experience.
