Focus Connect is a registered, non-profit charity that offers practical help and support services to the disadvantaged and marginalised.

Established in 1983 the organisation has been delivering aged care, disability and community services for 38 years.

Aged Care Divisional Lead Jacqueline Lobo said Focus Connect aimed to ensure that their organisation and services were relevant and accessible.

"At Focus Connect we focus on getting people the support they need, when they need it," Ms Lobo said. "We focus on you, so you can focus on what matters."

Based on an integrated service delivery system, Focus Connect's programs are specifically tailored through five broad service areas: children, youth, family, aged and disability. Focus Connect Aged Care Services provide a range of supports to help older people live independently, in their homes and communities, for as long as possible.

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) offers services that can be delivered on a short-term, episodic or ongoing basis and have a strong focus on activities that support independence and social connectedness, while providing more choice to consumers.

A range of Social Support Groups provides senior citizens with the unique opportunity of meeting and socialising with people from their own culture. Outings take place monthly to different locations.

The Domestic Assistance service is designed to support clients with everyday domestic tasks such as general house cleaning, unaccompanied shopping (delivered to house) and linen services. The Personal Care service is designed to assist with daily self-care tasks that may have become too difficult to manage. The assistance provided includes self-care and assistance with consumer self-administration of medicine.

Focus Connect have just opened a new office in Wetherill Park to service the communities around South-West Sydney and Northern Sydney and they are keen to grow their team of casual support workers.
