Marconi have now gone five games without a victory after their 4-2 loss to league leaders Blacktown City on Saturday night at Marconi Stadium. Despite Nathan Millgate opening the scoring in the opening 10-minutes, the home team found themselves behind 2-1 at the break.

Liam Youlley's breathed life back into the contest with his goal making it 3-2 but substitute Carlos De Olivera's goal clinched all three points for the visitors.

"The main thing from tonight's game was that our boys stuck at it and I am so proud of them," said Marconi coach Peter Tsekenis said.

"Clearly there were factors that we couldn't control but our effort was superb. We had a tough midweek game and overall I am very proud of our team."

Marconi defeated Sutherland last Tuesday in the FFA Cup.
