LATEST COVID-19 DEVELOPMENTS:
* One of the companies responsible for Australia's coronavirus vaccine rollout could have its contract torn up, after two elderly people in a Queensland aged care home were given excessive doses by a doctor who had not completed mandatory training.
* The federal government says Healthcare Australia will lose its contract to roll out the virus jab if another serious breach occurs.
* More than 17,500 coronavirus vaccinations have been administered so far across Australia.
* NSW will ease its COVID restrictions from Friday, as the state heads towards 40 COVID-19 free days. House parties will be allowed with up to 50 people, and up to 50 people will be allowed in gym classes.
* South Australia will lift the last of its national COVID-19 travel restrictions from Friday, clearing the way for people from Greater Melbourne to enter the state without needing to get tested or quarantine.
* The Victorian premier says he's "very confident" restrictions will also ease in that state on Friday, as Victoria notches six days with no new cases.
* Thousands of people remain in self-isolation in Victoria after coming into contact with cases linked to the Melbourne Airport Holiday Inn outbreak. The outbreak sparked a five-day statewide lockdown.
* States have tightened their border restrictions with New Zealand due to a growing outbreak in Auckland.
