The Glastonbury music festival will not go ahead in 2021, the organisers say, marking the second year in a row the gathering has been postponed due to the pandemic.
Festival founder Michael Eavis and his daughter Emily posted a statement to the event's Twitter page confirming they hoped it could take place next year instead.
"In spite of our efforts to move heaven & earth, it has become clear that we simply will not be able to make the Festival happen this year," the pair said.
"We are so sorry to let you all down."
Deposits laid down back in 2019 guaranteeing people the opportunity to buy a ticket for 2020 festival, which was also cancelled due to the pandemic, would be carried over to 2022, the statement said.
The music and arts festival has been taking place on the Eavis' farmland since 1970.
Previous musicians to headline the iconic pyramid stage include David Bowie, Radiohead and Jay-Z.
