A house was destroyed by fire at Fairfield West in the early hours of this morning.

Fire and Rescue NSW received numerous Triple Zero calls about 4.35am this morning (Thursday, November 26) reporting a house was a light on Thorney Road.

Crews from Cabramatta, Yennora and Smithfield brigades responded to the incident.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find the home fully involved with fire, and flames coming through the roof.

Fire and Rescue reports "the intensity of the blaze compromised the structural integrity of the home and prevented firefighters from entering, requiring them to attack the fire from the outside".

More than 12 firies worked for an hour to control the blaze, however the home could not be saved and was destroyed by the flames.

NSW Ambulance was on scene for the incident, however no injuries were reported. Nobody was home at the time.

NSW Police and Fire and Rescue's Fire and Research Investigation Unit are investigating the cause of the fire.
