Fairfield Liverpool quick Liam Hatcher is heading south for this year's Big Bash League.
The 24-year old, who has been part of the NSW Blues Sheffield Shield squad to start the summer, will link with the Melbourne Stars for Australia's Twenty20 showcase.
"I'm pretty excited to be joining the Melbourne Stars ahead of the upcoming season," said Hatcher, who has previously been part of Sydney Thunder set-up.
"I'd heard lots of good things about the club and the environment through Nick Larkin and I'm looking forward to meeting up with the players and coaches ahead of our first match in Canberra."
Stars coach David Hussey said: "We're glad to have Liam on board this season and he'll add further depth to our bowling stocks."
The Stars team is captained by Glenn Maxwell and contains several local and international big game players including Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, Jonny Bairstow and Nicholas Pooran.
