Police are investigating a number of armed robberies at service stations - including at Bonnyrigg - believed to be linked.
About 5am on Monday, November 23, police were called to a service station on Bungarribee Road, Blacktown, following reports of an armed robbery.
Police have been told an unknown male entered the store and threatened an employee, a man, with a knife before fleeing on foot empty-handed.
A short time later, just before 5.20am, police were called to reports of another armed robbery at a service station nearby on Bungarribee Road, Doonside.
Police have been told an unknown male threatened a male employee with a knife before stealing cash and fleeing in a white Honda CRV.
A short time later, about 6am, officers from Cumberland Police Area Command responded to reports of a car on fire on Hyland Road, Greystanes. The fire was extinguished, and checks revealed it was a Honda CRV. A crime scene was established and the car was seized.
Police are investigating whether the incidents are linked to armed robberies in Prospect and Bonnyrigg earlier this morning.
Just before 2am, officers from Blacktown Police Area Command were called to a service station on Flushcombe Road, Prospect, following reports of a robbery.
Police were told two men in a white Honda CRV stopped at the service station, before a male armed with a knife entered the store and threatened an employee, a man, before leaving empty-handed.
A short time later, about 2.30am, officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command responded to reports of an armed robbery at a service station on Cabramatta Road, Bonnyrigg.
Police have been told a man wearing a surgical mask and armed with a knife threatened the male attendant before stealing cash and fleeing in a white Honda CRV.
Officers have established crime scenes at all locations and are investigating the robberies, which are believed to be linked. There were no reported injuries.
