Tyson Frizell is playing for his representative career tonight.
Now there were a number of reasons why NSW lost the unloseable first State of Origin game against Queensland last week.
But where was that barnstorming back-rower all Blues' fans have loved over the past five seasons?
He made just 61m from eight runs. He's still run hard all season, but a sideways trait has crept in rather than charging through the centre like we know, or cutting back against the grain before straightening up.
At his best, Frizell resembles the Tasmanian Devil from the old cartoons.
You know, a whirring, whizzing ball of energy destroying everything in his path.
Frizell does everything at a million miles an hour.
When he runs, he looks like he's shot from a cannon. Against Manly in July, he recorded the fastest speed of the round at a sizzling 34.2kmh. At around 108kgs, or 17 stone in the old language, that's a potent combination of pace and power.
And his defence is also all bustle and hustle. And hurtful.
When Frizell signed a three-year deal with Newcastle in March, he spoke about the Knights' new coach Adam O'Brien seeing untapped potential, even though he was a regular State and Test representative.
If you google Frizell's highlights (and yeah, sure there's no such thing as a bad highlights' reel) the theme is 'Unleash The Beast'.
If the beast isn't unleashed, it might be the last time we see him at Origin level.
