Driver disqualified until 2054 allegedly caught behind the wheel again

At midnight on Wednesday, October 28, police attempted to stop a vehicle on Coventry Road, Cabramatta. The vehicle allegedly sped away refusing to stop. The pursuit continued to Guys Place, St Johns Park which is a cul-de-sac. Police approached the vehicle, which allegedly moved forward striking an officer. A window was broken and the driver allegedly resisted during the arrest and recorded a positive roadside drug test. Checks revealed the driver was already disqualified until November 2054. The 39-year-old from South Granville was charged with:

• Police Pursuit
• Driving while disqualified
• Using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.
• Resisting arrest.

Police are awaiting further lab results on the positive drug test. He is bail refused to Liverpool Local Court on November 12.
