Weapons and drugs seized in public transport blitz

The Police Transport Command (PTC) has charged more than 60 people and seized weapons and drugs during a three-day operation across the public transport network including Fairfield and Cabramatta.

Operation Invertice saw more than 120 officers from PTC deployed across Mt Druitt, Merrylands, Blacktown, Fairfield and Cabramatta to target anti-social behaviour, violence and weapons offences.

The high-visibility operation was conducted with assistance from the Dog Unit between Thursday and Saturday.

During the operation, officers charged a number of people for a range of offences, including drugs and weapons possession, hinder police and breach of bail offences.

The Police Transport Command plan to undertake further operations in the future.
