Two goals in three minutes has delivered Sydney United 58 their fourth straight win in the first derby of the season.

The Reds 2-1 win against rivals Marconi on Sunday at Sydney United Sports Centre moves them to the top of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men's 1 competition with only three rounds remaining.

Coming off a big win last week, the Stallions were the first to take advantage of a series of chances with Marko Jesic heading home the opener from a lofted header from Nathan Millgate.

But the Reds, now under interim coach Anthony Crea, have scored the most goals in the rebooted NPL season and equalised in the 65th minute through Patrick Antelmi (his sixth goal in four games since returning from an A-League stint) who finished off a slick move orchestrated by Yianni Perkatis found Glen Trifiro.

Perkatis played provider again three minutes later to allow Matt Sim who buried his shot to secure the Reds the lead which they managed to cling onto for the three points to move them to 18. The Stallions are in fifth spot on 13 points.

This Friday (7.30pm at Lily Homes Stadium), the Reds go for their fifth straight win against Blacktown City FC who have one win all season.

The Stallions host Manly on Saturday (4pm at Marconi Stadium) trying to break a win-loss sequence and cement their finals spot. They play North Shore Mariners (12th) and Sydney FC (sixth) in their final two games.
