Detectives have laid an additional charge as part of an investigation into the alleged serious assault of a child at a Cabramatta home last month.
Emergency services were called to a home on Chadderton Street about 9.50pm on Friday, August 28, after reports of an assault.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and found a five-year-old boy suffering serious injuries.
He was treated by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital before being transferred to the Children's Hospital at Westmead where he remains in a stable condition.
A 20-year-old old man and a 31-year-old woman - known to the child - were charged and remain before the courts.
Following further investigations, an additional offence of wounding a person with the intent of causing grievous bodily harm will be laid on the woman at Liverpool Local Court today.
