Stallions kick-off reboot with win

The NSW National Premier League men's 1 competition may have gone into a forced 19 week lay-off, but the Marconi Stallions have picked up where they left off.

The Stallions, who won the first three games of the season before it was voided, started the 11-week rebooted season with an impressive 2-1 win against reigning champions APIA Leichhardt at Lambert Park on Friday.

Led by Australian junior representative Lachlan Sepping, the visitors scored two goals in the second half to secure the first three-points of the season.

A Marko Jesic penalty and a sublime finish from from the edge of the penalty area from Anthony Frangie - who scored four goals before the COVID-19 break - clinched the win after a tight first half.

Meanwhile, a Fabio Ferreira brace inside the first 20-minutes helped Sydney Olympic to a 2-0 against Sydney United 58 FC atSydney United Sports Centre on Sunday.

The home side managed to claw their way back into the contest in the second half but couldn't find the back of the net. This Sunday, the Reds will search for their first win of the season when they host North Shore Mariners at Sydney United Sports Centre at 3pm. Marconi play Rockdale at Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday (6.30pm).
