Fledgling A-League club Macarthur FC has just signed 20-year-old young gun Denis Genreau to join the club in its debut season.

The French-born Australian midfielder has inked a three-year deal with the Bulls, who will join the league in the upcoming 2020/2021 season.

Genreau has represented Australia with the the Olyroos, helping the team qualify for the now-postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

He made his A-League debut at just 17 years of age with Melbourne City, playing two games with the club before being loaned to the Dutch first-tier side PEC Zwolle in 2018.

Genreau's impressive form over 12 matches with the Dutch team - including netting a goal - saw him return to Melbourne at the start of the 2019 season.

He has also taken part in several Socceroo training camps, preparing to join the next generation of national representatives.

The youngster is keen to join the Bulls for the next step of his career.

"I'm extremely excited about joining Macarthur FC," Genreau said.

"To be part of the inaugural squad at the newest club in the A-League is a great honour.

"I've heard fantastic things about football fans in the region and can't wait to hear the noise when we run out onto Campbelltown Stadium in our first match."

Macarthur FC coach Ante Milicic - who has just stepped down from coaching the Matildas to focus on his A-League gig full-time - said Genreau was a welcome addition to the growing club.

"Denis is the type of player you can build a club around," he said.

"Quality player on the pitch and virtuous young man off it.

"I have kept a close eye on his career so far and believe he will be a great fit for our club."

Genreau becomes the second player signed with the Bulls, following the announcement of Socceroo Tommy Oar back in January.

At the time, Milicic said Oar was exactly the kind of person the club was looking for.

"We've said it all along that we want good characters and good people at this club and Tommy certainly sets the standard in that regard."
