A member of the public has reported seeing a Great White shark in the water at Shellhabrour South Beach on Monday morning.
Dorsal Shark Reports said the two metre shark was spotted from shore about 9.20am about 200 metres out to sea.
"Slicing the water, chasing bait fish then fully launched out of the water which is how I saw the white belly - conforming it was a white shark," the person reported.
Surf Life Saving NSW Illawarra duty officer Anthony Turner previously said if swimmers or surfers saw diving birds and baitfish around, then sharks may be present and they should leave the water immediately.
He advised people to be alert but not alarmed by shark sightings.
"We just have to be mindful of sharks and take all the safety precautions we can such as not to swim or surf at dawn or dusk; don't be in murky water after heavy rain; or at river mouths where sharks like to feed," Mr Turner told the Mercury.
There were two shark sightings last Monday at McCauley's Beach, Thirroul and off an Austinmer Beach where the animals were feeding on bait fish.
Two Bulli siblings also came within metres of a shark off Bulli Point last weekend, and captured the close encounter on video.
