Six confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Fairfield

NSW Health has confirmed the total number of positive coronavirus cases in the Fairfield Local Government Area stands at six as of 8pm last night.

It's the first time NSW Health has broken down confirmed COVID-19 cases by LGA. Waverly LGA has the most with 105. The total number of confirmed cases in NSW is 1219.

"NSW Health is providing information to keep the community informed about COVID-19 while also protecting the privacy of patients," they said in a statement.

"What these figures reveal is that testing for COVID-19 is occurring at a significant rate across the state."

The COVID-19 statitiscs have also been broken down by Local Health Districts.

South Western Sydney Local Health District, whichcovers the Fairfield and Liverpool areas, have had 88 confirmed coronavirus cases.

The 88 confirmed cases represent a 1.14 per cent positivity rate after 7695 tests which is below the state average of 1.65 per cent.

It equates to 8.47 cases per 100,000 residents - which places SWSLHD tenth out of 15 health districts in NSW.

South West Sydney Local Health District is one of the the largest health districts in the state and includes Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, Bowral and District Hospital, Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, Fairfield Hospital and Liverpool Hospital.
