Four people have been arrested and two charged following a police pursuit through Bossley Park and Wetherill Park yesterday.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command were called to Tolmer Street, Bossley Park, about 12.30pm on Sunday, after a Toyota Corolla and a RAV4 - both reported stolen - were seen nearby.
Police attempted to stop the driver of the Corolla on The Horsley Drive, Wetherill Park. When the driver failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated, allegedly reaching speeds of up to 140km/h in a signposted 70km/h zone.
The vehicle stopped when it hit the kerb at the intersection of Cowpasture and Restwell roads, Bossley Park, and the four occupants ran into the nearby Western Sydney Parklands area.
POLAIR and a team from the Dog Unit were called to assist and all four were arrested a short time later. Two were found in the parkland, the third in Comin Street, Abbotsbury and the fourth was located by a Police Dog at a bus stop on Stockdale Crescent, Abbotsbury.
All were taken to Fairfield Police Station where the alleged driver, a 15-year-old boy, was charged with not stopping and driving recklessly in a police pursuit, driving a conveyance taken without consent and being a never licensed person driving a vehicle on a road. He was granted conditional bail to appear in a children's court on Monday, May 4.
A 20-year-old Sadlier man was charged with six offences including being carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, driving a conveyance taken without consent of owner and two counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception.He's been bail refused to Fairfield Local Court today (March 23).
Two other boys, aged 14 and 15, who were also in the car, have been dealt with under the Young Offender's Act.
