Foursome effort: Marconi create history at Bathurst Cup

The Marconi Stallions made history over the weekend becoming the first team to win all four titles at the 2020 Bathurst Cup.

The Bossley Park-based youth teams won the under-13s, under-14s, under-15s and under-16s competitions with a record number of 81 teams from 27 clubs playing 185 games at Proctor Park on Saturday and Sunday.

The Stallions defeated fellow NPL NSW youth top tier side Blacktown Spartans on penalties in the under-13's grand final after the game finished 0-0 at full time. They went through the competition undefeated with three wins and a draw, including a 3-0 win against South Coast Flame FC in the semi-final.

In the under-14s competition, Marconi also defeated the Spartans in the decider 2-1. The young Stallions overcome an opening game loss to qualify for the knockout stages.

Western NSW FC had the home crowd advantage in the under-15s grand final but the Stallions held their nerve after the match ended 0-0 and prevailed on penalties. The under-15s team didn't concede a goal the entire tournament.

The under-16s team completed the clean sweep defeating Nepean FC in the final via spot kicks after neither team could score in regulation time. The team scored 10 goals and conceded zero on their way to the title.
