Fairfield-Liverpool Cricket Club faced Hawkesbury this past Saturday, January 18 in the NSW Premier Cricket Competition.

Rain impacted the day heavily as Third and Fifth Grades were abandoned prior to their starts.

First Grade was playing at home at Rosedale Oval. The side got off to an average start, with none of the top four order batsmen cracking 20 runs.

The middle and tail of the order batted well with Chad Summut, Ravesh Sirvastava and Mitchell Williams scoring, 31, 26 and 22 runs, respectively.

Fairfield-Liverpool batted out the 50 over innings ending with 8/175.

Unfortunately, the match was abandoned at the change, resulting in a draw.

Second Grade were playing away and got off to great start. Harrison Carlyon's bowling had Hawkesbury at 1/4. Play was again abandoned as Hawkesbury finished with 1/52 after 19 overs.

Fourth Grade were also playing away with Fairfield-Liverpool fielding first. Led by Simon Grove and Tanvir Singh, who posted 2/30 and 2/34. Hawkesbury finished with 9/176.

Unfortunately, the away team were unable to chase down the total, despite a valiant effort from Shawn Bridges who had 61.They finished all out for 144.

Fairfield-Liverpool will face UNSW in a two-day match over the Australia Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday, January 25 and 26.
