Macedonian folkloric dancers from MKUD Ilinden Western Sydney performed at the second MakFest showcase in Queanbeyan last Saturday.
Junior, intermediate and senior groups from the Wetherill Park-based dance group performed in traditional costumes for a sell-out crowd of more than 350 people. Groups from Victoria and New Zealand also performed.
MKUD Ilinden Western Sydney president Borce Sugarevski said he was proud of his Macedonian folkloric dance group who displayed their Macedonian culture and traditions through Macedonian song and dance
"It's great to see our kids up keeping what our ancestors have past down to us. It's a fantastic feeling to see their smiles and how proud they are of their heritage," he said.
