Children can learn how to repurpose clothing, cook with leftovers and how to create a garden at a wide range of free and interesting environmental workshops these school holidays.
The annual Enviro Bootcamp is tailored for children aged 5-12 during the October school holidays with nine fun and interactive workshops.
Parents can register their children for all the workshops or just the ones that interest them which will be held at the Nalawala Sustainability Hub at Fairfield Showground.
Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone encouraged school aged children to experience the fun interactive workshops that will showcase some of the interesting and fascinating facts about the local environment.
"Children can repurpose clothes and jewellery to make something new and exciting to take home and wear, turn clean waste into art, go for a bush walk, take beautiful nature photographs, have a barbecue or discover the critters in our creeks," he said.
"Each day's workshop is stand-alone and different, so there is sure to be something to interest you."
Registration is required as spaces are limited.
