Rugby league and Patrician Brothers' College, Fairfield go hand in hand like a chip and chase.
And now the school, which has produced the likes of Parramatta Eels legend Peter Sterling, has added another accolade to their proud rugby league tradition.
The blue and blues under-13s team won the NRL Schoolboys Cup last Wednesday at Campbelltown Stadium defeating Westfields Sports High School 24-16 in the grand final.
Leading 18-6 at the break, Pats had to survive a second half comeback from their neighbours before hooker Zaidas Muagututia's 50-metre intercept try sealed the result inside the final five minutes.
The Steve Nikolovski-coached team went undefeated in the tournament to be crowned the No.1 under-13s rugby league team in the state.
It's been a big year on the footy field for Fairfield Pats.
In August, the school's under-14s team won the NSWRL Elite All Schools Knockout.
The school recorded wins against Endeavour Sports High (10-0), Illawarra Sports High (30-0), St. Dominic's (30-6) and Hills Sports High (10-4) to win the title.
The school's open team also returned to the NRL Schoolboy Cup this year recording one win from three games defeating Matraville Sports High School 50-12.
It follows on from their success in the NRL Schoolboy Trophy competition where they defeated Victoria's Mount Ridley College 32-26 last year's grand final.
