Charges laid over alleged road rage

Police are appealing for witnesses to an alleged road rage incident at Cabramatta West last Thursday.

At 3:30pm on September 5, a gold coloured Holden Commodore was driving east on Cabramatta Road West at Mount Pritchard. An incident has occurred on the road with a silver coloured Volkswagen Gold.

Both vehicles have stopped at the intersection of Cabramatta Road West and the Cumberland Highway, Cabramatta West. Two men have exited the Volkswagen, one armed with a hammer. It is alleged the men caused damage to the commodore.

The commodore drove off along Cabramatta Road towards the police station. It will be alleged the Volkswagen has cut in front of the commodore causing a collision. Passing police stopped and two men were arrested.

A 20-year-old from Liverpool was charged with having custody of an offensive implement in public, behaving in an offensive manner, damaging property and intimidation.

A 25-year- old from Cabramatta was charged with negligent driving, behaving in an offensive manner and intimidation.

Both men will appear at Liverpool Local Court on September 23.
