Festival of food is a smash hit

The punk princess of pastry Anna Polyviou dazzled the crowds at the eighth Parklands Food Fest on Saturday at Lizard Log.

The celebrity chef hosted two live cooking demonstrations, featuring recipes inspired by fresh, local, seasonal produce from the Parklands' own urban farming precinct including how to make a pavlova roulade and a cheesecake mistake.

She was joined on stage by Australia's most famous Spaniard in the kitchen, Miguel Maestre whose cooking style incorporates ingredients he grew up with in Murcia, with the fabulous fresh produce of Australia.

This year's festival highlighted the best of western Sydney's producers together with a range of market stalls, entertainment and free children's activities including rock climbing and a circus playground.
