POLICE | $1.5m of tobacco seized at Fairfield

An investigation is under way after Strike Force Raptor seized $1.5 million worth of tobacco at Fairfield earlier this week.

Strike Force Raptor detectives, of the State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad, searched an industrial unit on Fairfield Street about 5pm on Tuesday this week, August 13.

During the search, officers found 73 boxes containing tobacco with a total weight of nearly 1.5 tonnes.

The tobacco was seized for further analysis.

Inquiries are continuing and no arrests have been made yet.
