POLICE | 9 more on drugs charges after Wetherill Park squad searches 5 homes, including Canley Heights, Fairfield East, Villawood

Detectives have laid more charges as investigations continue into the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine and heroin in the South-West.

Last December, officers from WetherillPark Region Enforcement Squad established Strike Force Dewed to investigate the supply of drugs in the South-West.

After extensive inquiries, strike-force detectives arrested two men, 38 and 29, and a woman, 46, at a Liverpool home on January 31 after a sophisticated drug lab was uncovered.

Last month, investigators arrested eight more people and searched five homes at CanleyHeights, Fairfield East, Villawood, BassHill and GuildfordWest.

All 11 people have been charged and remain before the courts.

As a result of further investigations, Strike Force Dewed detectives re-arrested a man, 29, at Silverwater about 9am last Wednesday, August 7.

He was charged with supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug and supplying a prohibited drug x 2.

He was refused bail and is due in Liverpool court today, Monday, August 12.

Investigations under Strike Force Dewed continue.
