Police release images in relation to train assault

Police have released security footage images following an assault on a train at Liverpool Railway Station.

About 3.20pm (Monday, May 13), a 15-year-old boy was travelling on a train from Fairfield.

As the train approached Liverpool Station, the boy began abusing another 15-year-old boy and his friends, before punching him and threatening him with a knife.

The incident was reported to police and the Police Transport and Public Safety Command commenced an investigation.

Officers have now released security footage images of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man depicted in the photographs is described as being Caucasian, aged in his mid-20's, slim build with a large tattoo on the back of his neck.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a navy blue, hooded jumper and dark tracksuit pants and carrying a red backpack.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
