Eighth-placed Cabramatta have been eliminated in week one of the NSW Women's Premiership finals series losing 32-6 to the Saints at Campbelltown Stadium.
Last month the Two Blues conceded two tries in the final six minutes to lose to the same opposition. On Saturday, they were never in the hunt with the fifth-placed Saints scoring in the opening minute and headed into half-time leading 10-0.
Three tries in an eight-minute period after the break ended Cabramatta's 2019 campaign with five-eighth Raecene McGregor crossing for a consolation try late in the game. Meanwhile, defending champions Mounties earned themselves a week off with a come-from-behind 20-14 win against the Sharks. The minor premiers, who beat the Sharks 20-12 last week, produced a flawless second half with Jillaroo Simaima Taufa leading the way with two tries. Centre Patricia Raikadroka broke the deadlock with a try in the final two minutes. The game featured four NSW players including Mounties pair Taufa and Shaylee Bent.
