Fairfield has known Olina Loau has had talent for some time. Now, Australia is about to find out.
The 15-year-old singing sensation from Greenfield Park will feature on the upcoming series of Australia's Got Talent.
In a promotional video for her audition, the Bossley Park High School student stuns the audience with her rendition of Never Enough from the movie The Greatest Showman.
One-time Pussycat Doll singer and judge Nicole Scherzinger tells a nervous Olina to "sing with all your heart". And that's exactly what she did which resulted in a standing ovation from the four judges. Her performance brought host Ricki-Lee Coulter to tears.
"I was bawling backstage. My heart is racing. You're so amazing," Ricki-Lee said.
Olina told the Champion she was "very nervous" performing for a national audience.
"I had tingling in my fingers and toes," she said. "In the lead-up I was excited, but when I was waiting to sing I was nervous. It all went so fast when I was on stage."
Olina, who sung the same song at last year's School Spectacular, said she took confidence from having performed the song previously and having her dad Malaeola and her aunty Helen backstage. Olina started singing at 4, inspired by her aunt.
"They gave me so much support and kept me relaxed and calm. I also had 15 cousins and friends cheering me on in the audience," she said.
"Winning Australia's Got Talent would be a good opportunity to give back to my family."
Olina is a regular performer at Fairfield community events and festivals including the Bring It On! Festival. This week it was also confirmed she will return as a featured performed for her sixth School Spectacular with brother Ezra.
