A man has been charged after a stabbing at Fairfield on Friday.
About 8.15pm (Friday, July 12), emergency services were called to the intersection of The Crescent and Smart Street, Fairfield, following reports of three males fighting.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and located a 29-year-old man from Fairfield West with stab wounds to his chest and stomach.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard. He has since been released.
Two men, aged 38 and 60, were arrested at the scene.
The younger man was taken to Liverpool Hospital for observation before being released into police custody about 12.30pm yesterday (Saturday, July 13).
He was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday, July 14).
The 60-year-old was released pending further inquiries.
Investigators continue to appeal for any witnesses, who have not yet spoken to police, to come forward.
