Farfield Council's gallery of past mayors adorning the public walkway leading to the Council Chambers is one step closer to completion.
Horatio Alfred Baglee, Fairfield's mayor in 1906, has returned to take his rightful place with his alderman peers.
Baglee's great granddaughter Mavis Brown sent a copy of a restored portrait of Horatio to council which was hung up last week.
Current mayor Frank Carbone said today's council is "indebted " to those who came before them.
"Many important decisions have been taken by the men and women of past councils that have helped lead this city to being the great place to live, work and play that it is today," Mr Carbone said.
"The gallery is also fascinating to look at the fashions in clothes, hair and for the men, facial hair over the years.
"It's my pleasure as the current mayor to welcome Horatio back to the fold."
