At 6.30pm, on Monday, June 3, a man was stopped by a store employee and security guard after allegedly leaving a shop within a shopping centre in Fairfield having not paid for the items. The police were called and the man resisted arrest and did not comply with a search where police located further items. Enquires showed the man had been banned from the location several weeks earlier.
The 20-year-old from South Penrith was charged with shoplifting, goods in custody suspected of being stolen, resisting arrest and trespassing. He will appear at Fairfield Local Court on June 24.
Disqualified driver facing drug charges
At 11.20am on Tuesday, June 4, police were called to a car park in Greenfield Park. A search of a woman located an amount of heroin. Checks also revealed the 38-year-old from Horningsea Park had driven while her licence was disqualified until November 2019.
She was charged with possession of a prohibited drug, driving while disqualified and using an uninsured and unregistered vehicle. She will appear at Fairfield Local Court on July 15.
Man charged with fraud
On May 15, a credit card was stolen from a vehicle parked on River Avenue, Carramar and used at used at various locations at Fairfield and Smithfield over the following day.
On May 26, a credit card was stolen from a vehicle parked on Campion Street, Wetherill Park and used at used at various locations at Fairfield, Prairiewood, Greenfield Park and Smithfield over the following day.
On June 5, a 43-year-old man from Wetherill Park was charged with two counts of larceny and 16 counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception. He will appear at Fairfield Local Court on June 26.
