Nesreen Moussa was surprised and delighted to be named the winner of the Youth Award at this year's Fairfield City Local Business Awards.
A travel agent with Flight Centre at Bonnyrigg, Ms Moussa was a first-time competitor in the awards,
She said she was honoured to be recognised for her hard work and dedication to service.
"I was extremely happy to see my hard work and studying had such an amazing result," she said.
"I am a very competitive person who always aims to do right by my clients.
"They were the ones who suggested I take part in the awards as recognition of all my effort.
"I believe that because I treat my clients individually, and make sure I give them plenty of my time while making sure I meet their needs, I was able to win the award."
Ms Moussa said she believed her previous experience in the real estate industry helped make her a winner.
"Before I joined Flight Centre I had three years in real estate working for top industries in our country," she said.
"I have been able to adapt many of the skills I learned there to my current role."

She said the awards night was a great event which she found very enjoyable.
"As it was my first time going it was a night to remember, with live entertainment, great food and welcoming company," she said.
"It made me feel excited to participate in business awards. They are an amazing way to acknowledge local businesses at all different stages of growth."
Ms Moussa said she would encourage other young people to become involved in the awards as it was a good experience to go through.
She wanted to thank her family and work colleagues for helping to make the award possible.
"I also want to say that I know I would not be achieving what I have today without my fiance Youssef Diab," she said. "He has been my rock and motivation through my transitions within industries.
"My parents also pushed me to do better then the day before on a daily basis.
"I have been very blessed in my career to have a supportive family and an unbelievable loving partner."
