When Mitchum Newsagency burnt down in the early hours of November 2, 2017, their customers predicted a division one win when they reopened. On Wednesday, the prediction came true.

A Cabramatta shopper is the latest millionaire after winning the division one prize in the April 24 Lotto draw.

The player, who has chosen to remain completely anonymous, held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 3863 and took home the division one prize of $1,000,000. They claimed their prize today.

The winning entry was purchased at Mitchum Newsagency (Shop 2, 81-83 John Street, Cabramatta) - 18 months after the store was destroyed by a fire.

Owner were left "devastated" when the fire gutted the shop in the lead-up to Christmas in 2017.

It's the sixth division one wining ticket sold in the 16 years since the owners took over the shop. Their last division one win was for the $25 million Powerball in 2014.

Co-owner Dien Khuu said team members created two balloon columns to display outside the shop by 10.30am on Friday to celebrate the win.

"When my team member Jessica yelled 'we sold a division one last night!" from the back of the shop, my first thought was 'Yes! Mitchum is back'," he said.

"Many of our customers will be ecstatic for us. When our shop burnt down on November 2017, many of our customers predicted a division one win when we reopened.

"According to Chinese and Vietnamese superstition, when a shop catches fire and reopens, the 'environment' will be very fertile. In our case, the fertile environment will bring in a division one win within a year of reopening.
