Thousands jet in to experience second Fairfield Easter Fair

The second installment of the Fairfield Easter Fair has proved a smash hit with residents.

Thousands flocked to the Fairfield Showground over the Easter long-weekend to experience all the regular show-favourites including the rides and games, showbags, fireworks, wood chopping exhibition and animal nursery.

One of the major highlights this year was a water-powered jetpack show. There were also movie screenings on the final two nights.

Destiny Lyons - aka Miss DGL - also hosted daily hip-hop battles.

Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone said the council-supported free event will grow with support.

"It's an affordable alternative that won't cost families hundreds of dollars, just to enter and take kids out for the day," he said.

"It's affordable, it's local and it's not just about charging money at every point, but it's an affordable day out for families to come together.

"It's part of our vision to transform the Fairfield Showground into the main events arena for western Sydney."
