Aquatopia has a record-breaking year

Aquatopia continues to be a splash hit with the community with a record 75,000 people attending the water park during its third season which ends on April 28.

After nearly 40,000 people attended a shortened first season and 60,560 last year, this year saw a 23 per cent rise in attendance which saw the opening of a new high speed slide tower and the Fishpipe ride.

Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone said plans are in motion for more attractions to be added to the facility which is located inside Prairiewood Leisure Centre.

"We have further investment planned, with design underway for a wave pool and we are investigating non-aquatic attractions to make Aquatopia the epicentre of family fun all-year round," he said.

"Icetopia, where we convert the water park into a winter wonderland ice skating rink, will also return this July school holidays.

"It's fantastic that so many residents and visitors have experienced the fun of the park."
