The achievements of all finalists will be celebrated at a gala awards dinner and presentations evening to be held at Club Marconi on May 1.

Precedent Productions' managing director and awards founder Steve Loe said he never fails to be amazed at the huge number of entries received in support of businesses for the Fairfield City Local Business Awards.

Nominations have closed for the awards and the counting has begun to find the most popular businesses in each category.

The awards’ anonymous judges will then visit each finalist to assess their services from a customer’s point of view.

The judging criteria includes: range of products, value for money, business and staff appearance, service quality and customer relations.

Finalists also can also submit information about their business that an anonymous visitor may not see like  customer testimonials and references.

“The Fairfield community is renowned for being close-knit and supportive of one another,” Mr Loe said. “This proves, yet again, what a great place it is to live, work and do business. We have a huge task ahead of us to tally the thousands of submissions we've received in coupons as well as through the awards’ website.

The Fairfield community is renowned for being close-knit.
