Fairfield’s youngest residents have a new place to make a splash.
Fairfield Leisure Centre’s new babies’ pool is part of a $500,000 upgrade to the existing toddler’s pool that features interactive play equipment in a safe, low depth (200mm) splash park area.
Opened in December, Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone said the new area ensures there is “something for everyone” when it comes to getting active.
“Building confidence in and around water from a young age helps prepare young children for learning to swim in the future,” Mr Carbone said.
“The new babies’ pool provides a water play-scape, including water sprays and play equipment, which ensures endless hours of fun for young children.
“Council is focused on delivering services and facilities that will encourage families to get out and about, stay healthy, and enjoy everything that is great about this wonderful city we are lucky to live in.
“Our Leisure Centres are important places for us to get healthy and active. Now with the new babies’ pool there will be something for everyone.”
