As we leap into the second month of this new year, celebrations immediately erupt across our city welcoming the Year of the Pig.

Cabramatta will come to life to this weekend to celebrate one of the most important cultural events in south-east Asia – Lunar New Year.

The two-day festival hosted by Fairfield Council will take place at Freedom Plaza Cabramatta on Saturday and Sunday, featuring plenty of family-friendly entertainment, cultural activities and world class cuisine.

Fairfield City Centre also celebrates some positive additions throughout the CBD. Our centre continues to eagerly await the commencement of the 12 major landmark sites.

These iconic buildings which have been part of an Urban Design Program are conservatively making their way through the governing channels. Although the commencement date for these state-of-the-art projects is still unknown, our city continues to evolve with the integration of dozens of exciting new businesses across the CBD.

The continued integration of quality businesses and beautification programs will provide substantial benefits, providing a better shopping experience.

In line with our major centres Neeta City and Fairfield Forums’ enhancement of quality, Fairfield Chase is set to undergo major improvements.

The continued integration of quality businesses and beautification programs will provide substantial benefits, providing a better shopping experience attracting more shoppers.

On behalf of the Fairfield City Chamber of Commerce I would like to congratulate Alan Young, our City Manager , for recently being awarded a Public Service Medal in the Australia Day Honours for his 44 years of service to local government .
