Former Australian under-19 player Param Uppal (66) held the home team’s innings together with a composed knock in the humid conditions and was supported by Wendel Delpechitra (42). When rain stopped play, the Lions were 7-193 with Zach Johns (35) and Jeremy Maher (2) the not out batsman.

For the visitors, new ball pairing  Declan White (3-23) and Joshua Bennett (2-35) shared the wickets.

Second grade will resume their innings at 7-135 after being sent into bat at David Phillips South.
