It’s first against last in round 8 of NSW Premier Cricket – but someone forgot to tell Fairfield Liverpool.
Fresh off their first win of the year, the Lions battled hard after being sent into bat by the league leading UNSW.
Former Australian under-19 player Param Uppal (66) held the home team’s innings together with a composed knock in the humid conditions and was supported by Wendel Delpechitra (42). When rain stopped play, the Lions were 7-193 with Zach Johns (35) and Jeremy Maher (2) the not out batsman.
For the visitors, new ball pairing Declan White (3-23) and Joshua Bennett (2-35) shared the wickets.
Second grade will resume their innings at 7-135 after being sent into bat at David Phillips South.
