Knuckle duster located during vehicle stop

At 2:30am on Tuesday, November 27, police stopped a vehicle on Avenel Street, Canley Vale. During a search of the front passenger, police located a knuckle duster which also opened into a knife. Police also located resealable bags containing methylamphetamine (ICE) and a xanax tablet. The 25-year-old man from Fairfield Heights was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, prohibited drug and prescribed restricted substance

He will appear at Fairfield Local Court on January 21.

Disqualified driver caught behind the wheel

At 7:10pm on Tuesday, November 27police stopped a vehicle on Cathcart Street, Canley Vale.  The driver was not able to produce a licence and checks revealed he was disqualified from driving until October 2021.  The 25-year-old man from Fairfield was charged with driving whilst disqualified and will appear at Fairfield Local Court on January 14.

Canley Vale robbery

At 3pm on Tuesday, November 27, a robbery has occurred on a footpath adjacent to Orphan School Creek, Canley Vale where a 16- year-old boy was assaulted and a small amount of money taken.  On Wednesday, November 28, a 16-year-old boyfrom Cabramatta was arrested and charged with robbery in company.  He is bail refused to next appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on January 14. Inquiries are continuing. 

Knife and drugs located

At 10pm on Friday, November 30, police stopped a vehicle on Polding Street, Fairfield.  A search of the front passenger located an amount of cannabis and a folding knife.  The 19-year-old man from Guildford was charged with custody of knife and possessing a prohibited drug. He will appear at Fairfield Local Court on January 11.
